Meet the Coaches

The Leadership Summit program is taught by these incredible Basotho young adults. Each one has a passion to reach the lost in Qwa Qwa and gives their all in teaching students more about Jesus Christ.

Jwalane

Jwalane Dunjane

Jwalane is 22 years old and joined Thrive Africa as a Coach in 2007. Her most prized possession is her church because that is where she receives encouragement and has the opportunity to fellowship with other Believers. Jwalane feels that she can deal with anything that comes her way because God lives within her, and He is greater than the one who lives in this world.

Thembi

Thembi Gwebu

Thembi is 27 years old and the first priority in her life is God, then her family, and then her church. She desires students to reach their highest potential and begin to succeed in life by influencing them to know and please God. As a Core Coach, Thembi helps oversee all the Coaches throughout the week, so that the greatest impact will be made on their students.

Rebecca

Rebecca Hans

Rebecca loves to smile because she knows she is a temple of the Holy Spirit. This attitude flows into her Leadership Summit classes, where she pours into her students, helping them find their God-given purposes in life and teaches them to be good leaders. Since 2007, when she joined Thrive Africa, she has looked forward to the weekly Coach meetings, where she has the opportunity to further develop herself as a leader.

Mapuleng

Mapuleng Koetje

Mapuleng is 21 years old and loves interacting with youth in small group settings. It is her passion for youth that led her to join Thrive Africa as a valuable contributor to Leadership Summit, devoting a lot of time and energy towards being a Coach. Mapuleng has greatly influenced her students, helping them with whatever problems they may be facing, and, most of all, teaching them about their God-given purpose and destiny.

Daniel

Daniel Lebakeng

Daniel began working as a Coach with Thrive Africa in 2007. He likes working with Leadership Summit because so many lives have been changed since the program first began. Teaching the students that they can reach their highest potential and destiny is Daniel’s main goal as a Coach. Daniel loves that God created him with a purpose and that is the message he works tirelessly to instill in young people.

Lettia

Lettia Mahlophe

Lettia loves to serve other people. It is this attribute that has lead her to work with Leadership Summit as a Core Coach. She works closely with the schools who are currently participating in the Leadership Summit program, staying in contact with them and bridging the gap between school leadership and Leadership Summit staff. She also assists in the recruitment of new schools for participation in the program.

Lerato

Lerato Matshepe

Lerato loves the fact that God guides her and gives her strength when she is down. Her personal statement of faith is: “I can do everything through God who gives me strength.” In Leadership Summit classes, Lerato longs to influence her students’ behavior, telling them that if they live well, their good behavior will unlock locked doors.

Patricia

Patricia Mlangani

Patricia says that due to her involvement as a Coach since 2007, she has become a more disciplined person. The marked difference that coaching has made in her life has even been noticed by her family. Her favorite thing about being a Coach is that she is no longer afraid to speak in front of students. She has also learned more about God and the kind of lifestyle a Christian should demonstrate.

Tshidi

Tshidi Mofokeng

Tshidi started working with Leadership Summit as a Coach in 2007. She is a vibrant young woman who likes to talk and smile, which has a positive effect on each of her classes. She believes that through God anything is possible and knows that He is moving in students’ lives. Tshidi says that it is through her participation in Leadership Summit that she has learned to love her students as if they were her own children.

Joseph

Joseph Mokowna

Joseph has worked with Leadership Summit since 2007. His first priority in life is getting to know different people and sharing the Word of God with them. This priority is evident in his work as a Coach, where he has the opportunity to share the Word of God with students each week. Joseph strives to encourage his students and help them with their problems.

Matthew

Matthew Monyobo

Matthew has been working as a Coach since 2007 and brings high levels of excitement to each of his classes. He strives to help his students see the importance of going to church and building a relationship with God. Matthew knows that if he trusts and believes in God with all of his heart, God will use him in great ways.

Lucas

Lucas Motsoeneng

Lucas joined Leadership Summit in 2007, and has since been given the task of leading seven other Coaches throughout the week, as a Team Leader. His favorite part about being a Coach is working with the students and knowing that what he does makes a difference in their lives. Lucas’ greatest desire for Leadership Summit is that through it, more lives are changed.

Alfred

Alfred Mzizi

Alfred is 25 years old and loves that God is his provider and has forgiven him for all the things he has done in the past. His favorite part about being a Coach is developing friendships with his students and teaching them what God wants them to know. Alfred strongly believes that God desires to see youth reach their highest potential and become successful in life.

Thandekile

Thandekile Tobotsane

Thandekile loves that God is the Prince of Peace. Knowing this truth, she has made God the first priority in her life. As a Team Leader in Leadership Summit, she helps bridge the gap between Coaches and Leadership Summit staff. She is able to easily recognize potential in her students and helps bring out the best in others.
