Next Step photos

As a Next Step intern, your days will be packed with seminars and classes taught by full-time missionaries as well as hands-on ministry in the villages, allowing you to expand your horizons in both “book knowledge” and “street smarts”.

You’ll get to:

• Engage in relationship evangelism and personal discipleship of nationals
• Run a coffee bar and curio shop for visiting mission teams
• Attend seminars and classes taught by Thrive Africa’s missionary staff
• Grow personally and spiritually through small group discussions and mentorship by full-time missionaries
• Participate in ministry projects both on the base and in the village
• Go on a safari and see elephants, lion, rhinos, and more.

Why Next Step

This isn’t an ordinary mission trip, and it’s not your typical internship. You won’t spend your time in a monotonous routine schedule, and you won’t leave with only a surface level understanding of missions and Basotho culture. Here you’ll change people’s lives, face to face. You’ll grow by leaps and bounds through seminars that hand you a real, relevant picture of missions, leadership, culture, and vision.

You’ll be immersed in outreaches and classes that concentrate on practical ministry in a cross-cultural format. Through the knowledge and skills sharpened by this experience on the mission field, you’ll be empowered with the tools and resources you need for a lifelong commitment to missions.

You’ll have plenty of diverse ministry opportunities that will serve as the broadening of your worldview and appreciation of a foreign culture. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop relationships with year-long interns, full-time missionaries, and other Next Step interns. The friendships you make while you’re here will not easily fade, and you’ll soon know people all across the world!
